American missionary, Dan Beach Bradley, was considered a teacher in many areas, including medicine and printing. He also provided English language instruction to the King and members of the Siamese royal court. Bradley’s diaries contain records of many different events. These diaries have become a primary historical source, documenting politics and ways of life in Siam during a time when the country was becoming increasingly accepting of the influences of Western education.
