Damnoen Saduak refers to both land and water. Travelling by land, we find plantations and orchards on both sides of the pathways. Traditional furrow irrigation was brought over by Chinese settlers. The local pomelos, limes, and papayas have been famous from past to present. Travelling by water, we observe the lifestyles throughout the length of Klong Damnoen Saduak which flows 32 kilometres. On both sides of the klong, many traditional aspects of trade and travel continue to be preserved, and some things haven’t changed “in many decades”.
